It's finally Week 20! Seems like it took forever to get here.

For this week's photo, I decided to capture something completely spontaneous and then try to factor a theme into my image. A complete reverse indeed! I thought it's about time I changed a method or so, and switching around the way in which I try to execute my weekly blog was certainly the way to start.

After strolling around Fifth Avenue this past week, I got quite a few takes of New Yorkers and tourists enjoying the somewhat pleasant weather after the heat wave we had last week. After sifting through a bunch of takes, I decided on a shot that was taken on the patio of the Public Library. Even though there's an abundance of people in the photo, I think it's quite evident that the main focus is on the girl in the center of the photo. She seems quite intrigued with her laptop, but at the same time, she's quite relaxed as she reads whatever it is that's on her screen. And so, the theme for this week's photo is Caught in the Moment.

I chose Caught in the Moment as my theme because it speaks to the heart of what my so-called "paparazzi" shots have been. That is, me, strolling around several places in search of a subject for my weekly photo blog. Of course, unbeknownst to this lovely lady, I took a photo of her that I'm now using as my Week 20 shot. I doubt I'll ever see her again, or even if I do, I'd have no idea what she looks like because I never did see her face. Additionally, Caught in the Moment also seems to fit with what's going on in the take. That is, it's such a beautiful day out and almost everyone in the take is enjoying the beautiful sunshine that's been missing over the past few months. Yet, this young lady seems not to be enjoying the atmosphere as others in the photo. Yes, she's out and about. But she's not quite in that moment, now is she?

I guess I'm slowly drifting off into discussing another life lesson with this photo. So before I blab on I'll just end with how excited I am for next week's photo. I don't think I'll be handing in the towel on this project just yet, as it still offers a pleasant break from studying for the bar :)
