For the past week, I've been contemplating a self-portrait. But, I couldn't quite figure out a "theme," other than just posing and taking a few clicks of myself. Eventually, I was inspired by a few portraits I came across on Buzzfeed entitled, 20 Perfect Portraits of Person + Pet Pairs. Since I'm super in love with my cats, I figured... why the hell not? After all, I've been meaning to do a feline-shoot for sometime now... lol

          That said, I still had to figure out to put my set-up together... since my kitties tend to get super excited the minute I put the backdrop up. Eventually, I decided on taking the photos in separate rooms. That way, when I was ready to take my selfie, the cat wouldn't be tumbling all over my layout. So I took Nala's photo in the living room, and then reverted to a closed room to take mine. 

          To add our own "flare" to the portraits, we decked ourselves in some jewelry. So, the title of our photo is "Bejeweled Goddesses." "Bejeweled" for the jewelry, and "Goddess" because my cat is a Queen in her own right, and because I was named after a Hindu female goddess :) Taking the photos of Nala took a while, as she needed to get accustomed to the necklace before I got her to "pose." Then, I had to move the set-up to another room so I could do my portrait. After adding some make-up and fixing my hair, I finally began my shoot. After an hour of different takes, I was satisfied with the results.         

          Nevertheless, piecing the photos together to get the exact replica of the Buzzfeed pics was a challenge. I had to carefully crop and adjust both our photos to make it seem as though we were in the same frame or something similar. I didn't quite get the specificity I wanted, but I was happy with the merger. And here we are....

Even though there were two photos, the specs were the same.
