For this week's photo, I wanted to experiment with colors. Instead of doing the obviously array of colors on white paper, I decided to do something abstract. After some research, I was settled on trying the oil and water technique to showcase my theme, The New Universe.

As usual, this was no easy task. After setting up the bowl with water and oil, I found that there were way too many air bubbles in the circles that were reflecting the colors below it. Those air bubbles sorta gave the display a "dirty look." So, I stopped shooting and let the water sit over night in order to allow the bubbles to evaporate. When I checked the next morning, the bubbles had evaporated, but then the water had an almost "foggy look." I stirred it around a bit, and tried to capture as much colored bubbles as I could using a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens. After 50 takes or so, I started my editing process. With some cropping, adjustment to contrast and saturation, I was pleased with the outcome. Finally, after analyzing several photos... I decided on the one below, entitled "The New Universe."
