Week 25...

This week's photo features a pair of one of my favorite earrings. The theme for this week was "Green." Again, I didn't want to do something overly obvious like taking shots of nature. That'd be way to easy, and besides... I have so many shots like those already!

After pondering between splashing some green powder on white paper or just showcasing very subtle hints of green, I decided on keeping it simple. Thus, my set-up just involved taking a small branch and placing it into a glass jar. Then I took the jar outside, set it on a stool against the outlay of my background. Luckily, the sun was just setting and so the colors from the wooden fence and the nearby tree was just perfect as a backdrop. Then I hung my earrings on the branch and began shooting. After several takes of the earrings on different stems on the tree branch, I finally got this.

I absolutely adore this shot, so I did very minimal editing in Lightroom to fade the background so that the focus would remain on the earrings. I also played around with the Google+ Photo editor Software for fun and came up with a very interesting layout that makes the photo seem like something from an old catalogue of vintage or gothic earrings. Here's what I'm talking about.

Hope you liked this week's photo :)
