Week 33 and the theme is "Shot from Above."
This week's photo was shot by my sister during a hiking trip upstate. I decided to use a photo of hers and edit it to my liking because I simply couldn't fathom ideas to mimic the theme. Moreover, since she was at the top of a mountain overlooking a river and bridge, there's no arguing that it wasn't shot from above. :) Sorta looks like a miniature of bridge and a river, doesn't it?
Unfortunately, the shot was taken with an Ipod Touch, so I don't have the specifics of the image to share. However, I should add that I edited the photo in Google+ to add extra textures and structures to the overall look of the image. For example, the bridge is extra crisp, while the vegetation on the mountain is overly saturated. Then I played around with colors for the remainder of the forest on the lower portion of the photo to contrast that of the orange leaves on the mountain. Finally, I darkened the image to create some grain-like texture in the water to highlight the reflection of the clouds above. Again, this edit is very different from what I usually indulge. However, I see this as an ode to Autumn. Thus, I was very liberal with the saturation and contrast of the photo.
