My apologies for the late post, but this week was a bit crazy.

The theme for this week's photo is "The Enchanted Forest." Since I was not satisfied with the results for my Fifty-two Frames submission for the "One light source" theme, I figured I'd post something of my own. After some consideration, I decided to feature a shot I'd taken last Sunday (hey, it still counts as last week... right?:))

I thought this photo worked well for an Enchanted Forest theme, especially since I have an upcoming collection of photos I've put together entitled, "The Enchanted Series." Hence, this photo works as the perfect preview.

The photo may seem a bit dark, but it's done on purpose to add some depth and draw focus to the lush array of pink leaves lining the bottom of the trees. I guess you can call this a "pink lining" since it's pretty difficult to find silver-like leaves in a forest.

As you can imagine, this photo has been highly edited. I first lowered the brightness and sharpened the details of the photo in Lightroom. Thereafter, I passed it through Google+ Editor to adjust the contrast, saturation and focus. After tinkering with several detail settings, I finally wound up with the above result. Here's what the shot looked originally and after being edited in Lightroom.

Indeed, the general layout and feel of the photo is different from my usual style. However, since I've been working to put together a series/collection, I decided to try something new. As I near the end of piecing together the collection, I'm trying to keep my editing to a minimum since I'm still not too fond of overly edited/processed photos.

Well there you have it. Hope you liked this week's feature. Stay tuned for my Enchanted Series Collection :)
