Week 31, and the theme for this week was Fashion.

           All week I've been toying with the idea of doing a shoot showcasing jewelry. My primary inspiration being this wonderful blog that I came across earlier this week. Initially, I wanted to trek out into the forest to hang some necklaces on tree branches against the sunset. However, since I didn't have the opportunity to drive up north I had to improvise. Thus, I took some shots of a few necklaces that hung from tree branches stuck in a vase. However, the final results were not exactly what I had in mind. That is, I wanted my photo to be subtle and not overly suggestive of fashion. After all, fashion is not limited to clothing and shoes, right?

          Eventually, I asked my sister to volunteer as a hair model so I could take some photos featuring these cute little butterfly hair clips I had forgotten I had since the mid 90s. After some takes and very minimal editing, here's what we came up with.

         I realize that this frame seems overly saturated, but I think it adds some special aura to the image... especially since the theme is fashion and this happens to be Fall (hint hint: pumpkin hues). The funny this is, the saturation stems from some regular camera tricks/tips... not PhotoShop. To create these hues, I had a regular photo light facing away from my sister. Then I angled my flash directly towards the ceiling since it's orange/yellow. After a few twists and turns to capture the right shade of Autumn-like hues, I got the above background colors. 

         Since I'm publishing this before my fellow Fifty-two Framers, I'm anxious to see what the others in the group have to showcase :)
